President Barack Obama said August 21′st that Muslims have the right to build a mosque near New York’s Ground Zero. In America after 911, we would be upset that it was proven that Muslim were the ones who killed the American at ground zero. Now, not generalizing Muslims, President Obama is for world peace and bringing love to the world. Of Course, for those who lost family members, and those who are clearly against world peace, would turn this all into the biggest negative statement to some.
However calling The President a Muslim and saying many more things that are not true is not positive either. Facts are Facts the President is only stating the fact that everyone should have equal rights. We may not all agree, since he is the 1st African American President how could many agree.
Now that America has a world peace general in the white house it is not accepted. Obama commented during a trip to Florida, where he expanded on a Friday night White House speech asserting that Muslims have the same right to freedom of religion as everyone else in America. Gov. Charlie Crist, R-Fla
“I think he’s right — I mean you know we’re a country that in my view stands for freedom of religion and respect for others,” Christ said after the Florida meeting with Obama and other officials. “I know there are sensitivities and I understand them. This is a place where you’re supposed to be able to practice your religion without the government telling you you can’t.”
Obama replied;
“my intention was simply to let people know what I thought. Which was that in this country we treat everybody equally and in accordance with the law, regardless of race, regardless of religion.”
Opinions are mixed among family members.
Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son was killed at the World Trade Center, has said the president’s comments show “a gross lack of sensitivity to the 9/11 families and to the people who were lost.”
Where do you stand on this? Are you Far or Against Equal rights?
mmm… i think they should let them build a mosque there. if we dont let them build a mosque at ground zero, then we are pretty much all hypocrites, but if we do, we will offend some people… btw, isnt that was the United States is all about? Besides, its been like… 9 years? get over it people.
Sorry if i offend anyone, but remember the 1st amendment.
It is completely hypocritical for anyone to be opposed to this. As much as I want to be sensitive too the families that lost loved ones in such a tragic event in history, I believe this should be none of their concern. It wasn’t Muslims as a whole that bombed the world trade center. It was a group of individuals who happened to be Muslim that did. I am truly surprised and believe it is somewhat of a disgrace that such blatant racism is going on openly. There are families of Muslim belief that
lost loved ones in 9/11 too. And there are events that have happened in the past, involving several religions, that are deemed horrific. Yet in most circumstances, few want to be seen holding everyone of a certain faith responsible for a group of individuals actions. This should be no different. Well done Obama for standing up for what you believe in, and against what is clearly a violation of human rights.
Sorry not bombed, crashed into.
those of you who believe we should deny certain people ANY rights because of religion or anything else need to let me know, because its wrong! and so is breaking in to peoples houses and beating them senseless, but since morality and justice aren’t important to you..GIVE ME YOUR ADDRESS!
I appreciate your honesty. It is with great hope that more Americans stand up for equal rights. Linda for Obama
first of all what part of we are all equal did you miss he is black yes but that changes nothing if he was white or cocasion or Mexican people would still call him Muslim…but ask yourself a question why does they want to be there? people are just taking precautions if you don’t remember the U.S. does have traitors hence pearl harbor. now with all this yes i agree they have rights equal but with the past we are just taking precautions so that another don’t die 4,000 people …i’m not saying we shouldn’t let them build there i am just saying we should take some precautions first thanks for reading plese consider what i have said
I agree with you KK. Please note that our government are not stupid people although so act stupid lol, I am sure they will have big brother watching especially with the past history of ground zero. Besides its not the Bush Administration anymore. it the smarter government now.
