Keeping Track of Barack

Day 71: Marijuana Mishap

  • Sharebar

After earlier in his career having stated he believed in decriminalization of Marijuana use, he made a major faux pas recently in an interactive town hall meeting that has created major waves in the online community. To be fair, dissing the entire “online audience” which is exactly the same crowd that raised half a billion dollars to put him where he is, was pretty dumb.

‘There was one question that was voted on that ranked fairly high (sic, it was actually the number 1 question) and that was whether legalizing marijuana would improve the economy and job creation, and I don’t know what this says about the online audience,’ Mr. Obama said, drawing a laugh. He said he wanted to make sure the question got answered. ‘The answer is no, I don’t think that was a good strategy.’

The mistake followed by comments by a Hardvard professor and Ron Paul:

Nice site idea! Keep it going!

  2. Zach Taylor says:

How often does one hear about someone having a few drinks and beating their wife or children? Now how often does one hear about someone smoking a joint and beating their families? Legalize weed, or illegalize alcohol (maybe cigarettes while we’re at it).

I voted for obama. I believe he is a great guy and after researching and listening I decided he would have my vote.

Now I really disagree with him on this subject.

The marijuana industry in america alone creates billions of dollars for criminals that are probablly also selling and creating more dangerous drugs.

Why not Legalize the medical use/and SMALL personal use? It will definatly start to create jobs, money, and a tourist destination for people all over the world.

How can that not generate jobs and tax money for our government?

Put it this way. It’s an industry that is thriving right now and the money is going to the wrong people.

Just for the record I quit smoking marijuana a few years ago but that doesn’t mean I am not for it.

Now I understand he cant commit political suicide but he should GET UP STAND UP, STAND UP FOR THE RIGHT.

At least have a trial period ware for five years the government tries it out to get us out of this mess. market it. Worse comes to worse yank it off the shelves if it begins to resemble the definition of an epidemic.

So, I some how stumbled across this site, and I would like to say that I am all for the legalization of pot. The rate of people who smoke pot is already so high that people are going to keep doing it whether the government approves or dissaproves. So why are we letting the criminals take in the $ 55 billion, when we could be paying back China in the trillions of dollars we owe them. But No, we have to sit on our lazy McDonalds eating asses and use welfare. Why not legalize it?

  5. Lucy Newby says:

I completely agree on the legalization of marijuana. I mean look how much money pot dealers make. Driving nice cars, having nice things. The government could be making that money. I mean over half of the U.S. smokes pot. Legalizing pot would bring new jobs, money, a new fuel sorce, and a new type of medicine. Plus it doesn’t take as long to grow as trees do so we could use it as paper, textiles, and even a food sorce (THC has a protein in it that gets rid of bad cholesteral naturally). So why shouldn’t we legalize it? The freakin constituion was written on hemp paper. And George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson (just to name a few) grew it.

This is fucking bullshit, obama is such a piece of shit, how could he do this to us, odviously the mother fucker was just looking for votes.
